Sindh Food Authority organizes an awareness event to promote safe and quality food, hygiene standards, and the responsibilities of food business operators.

KARACHI: The Sindh Food Authority, Government of Sindh, organized a ceremony to mark World Food Day 2026 in District West under the guidance of Provincial Food Minister Makhdoom Mahboob-uz-Zaman and the patronage of Secretary Food Sindh Ghulam Abbas Naich.
The event aimed to raise public awareness about safe and quality food, promote cleanliness and hygiene in food preparation and supply, and educate food business operators about their responsibilities in maintaining food standards and protecting public health.
DIG Traffic Syed Pir Mohammad Shah attended the event alongside Director General Sindh Food Authority Shehzad Fazal Abbasi, SSP West Tariq Mastoi, the TMC Chairman, representatives of the Consumer Association, food business operators, and other distinguished guests.
The ceremony emphasized the importance of collective efforts by government departments, food businesses, and the public to ensure access to safe, hygienic, and quality food and to strengthen a culture of food safety across society.
The Sindh Food Authority expressed its sincere gratitude to all distinguished guests, participants, and stakeholders for their cooperation and support in making the World Food Day 2026 event a success.
