KARACHI: Sayed Rasool Bux Shah, Executive Director, Sindh Teacher Education Development Authority (STEDA), represented STEDA and the School Education & Literacy Department, Government of Sindh, at the DHIS2 Asia-Pacific Conference 2026, organised by HISP Asia in collaboration with the GPE-KIX EMAP Hub, held from 5–7 October 2026 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The conference brought together government representatives, education experts, researchers, and development partners from Pakistan, Egypt, Bangladesh, Tunisia, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.
The conference provided a platform to showcase the Government of Sindh’s Teacher Licensing Policy and its implementation through STEDA, highlighting efforts to professionalise teaching, strengthen professional standards, and enhance quality assurance in teacher education.
Building on Sindh’s experience, representatives from participating countries, the Federal Government of Pakistan, and other provincial governments are expected to share their respective teacher licensing plans in January 2027 under the broader KIX-supported initiative.
Sindh’s progress in teacher licensing reflects the leadership of Honourable Minister for Education & Literacy, Syed Sardar Ali Shah, the continued guidance of Mr. Zahid Ali Abbasi, Secretary, School Education & Literacy Department, and the dedicated efforts of Sayed Rasool Bux Shah, Executive Director STEDA, and the STEDA team in advancing teacher professionalisation and quality education in the province.
