PESHAWAR, Pakistan — In a heartbreaking incident, the roof of a private school reportedly collapsed in Peshawar, killing 27 children and a female teacher after they were trapped beneath the rubble.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un (Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we shall return).

Tragically, this is not the first reported incident of a school roof collapse in Pakistan. Similar accidents have occurred in the past, claiming the lives of dozens of children and raising serious concerns about school building safety and the protection of students.
